Runecrafting
Fishing update!
The fisherman has picked up some… unexpected new hobbies. He’s now a Runecrafter! And that would be completely unimportant if it weren’t for the fact that… You can now get runes by fishing! Runes have a small chance of dropping every time you fish an item.
There are many types of runes, and they come in 4 different tiers: Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, each of which offer stronger effects than their predecessors.
Once collected, you can speak to the Runecrafter (on his pier, some things never change) to apply them to any piece of Diamond Armor for a stacking stat boost! Higher rarities require higher Fishing levels to apply, and runecrafting in general requires you to have the Runecrafting renown upgrade, unlockable from Prestige VIII:
Turns out that Runecrafting is an expensive and risky business, though. Runes cost coins to apply to armor based on the rune’s tier, and have a ~30% chance of failing to apply, destroying the rune entirely. No, you can’t sue him, he’s a lawyer now too.
The Fisherman is no longer buying fish, so that job has been delegated to the pawn stars, who are offering similar rates.
Other news:
- Added a 20% chance to fish XP bottles, which give extra fishing XP when picked up
- Tiny chance to fish a Pullbow IV jewel bow
- Buffed Plethora (-50% -> -35% per digit in needed XP)
- Nerfed Sharing is Caring (1.25 -> 0.75 XP)
- Updated the check for broken mystics to be more consistent
- Added Pin down bow enchant (removes speed for 1/1.5/2s on hit)
